Recent advances in cosmetic dentistry have given us the ability to place tooth colored fillings in any of your teeth in place of the traditional metal or silver fillings. Since these composite fillings are the same color as your natural teeth they blend in the mouth seamlessly.

These tooth colored fillings are chemically bonded to the tooth which helps protect the remaining tooth structure from breaking.

Composite resin material used in tooth bonding can match the shade, translucency and texture of your teeth can be used to fix just about any problem, including chips, cracks, discoloration, gaps, building up worn down areas and making a crooked tooth appear straight.

When silver fillings (amalgams) were used in the past, the result was less than favorable. The problem with this previous treatment is it left you with discolored teeth. Silver fillings tend to let moisture in, resulting in a darkened tooth. When this happens, the filling expands and the tooth can even crack. Eventually, with wear and tear and time the mercury fillings can break down and begin corroding in your mouth Now, with tooth colored resin composites or porcelain to replace fillings, you can restore your teeth's original strength and color, returning your smile back to its youthful appearance.
